Awarded to U-boat crew members during the Second World War, the U-Boat Badge was typically awarded after the completion of two war patrols. This may seem a lowly requirement yet it was anything but, with the average patrol lasting months at a time, not to mention the severe danger inherent in these missions. Attacks by allied aircraft and warships were not uncommon. As such, this badge symbolises the courage, resilience, and relentless determination of those who served in the perilous waters of the Atlantic and beyond, often facing life-threatening conditions in pursuit of their mission.

Description
Originally given to U-Boat crew members during the First World War, the Kriegsmarine U-Boat Badge was reinstituted in October 1939. It was essentially the same as the original badge, with the exception of the imperial crown having been replaced by the German Eagle above a swastika, as well as a more modernised submarine.
Our reproduction is a painstaking replica of the WW2 original. Made from zinc with a gold finish, and measuring 6cm x 6.3cm, the badge is tailor-made to be fit to a uniform, featuring a rearward clasp that ensures a secure fit. This badge provides a great leaping off point for anyone looking to build a historical collection, or for those seeking to add a little flair to their historical reenactment.
