General Dwight D. Eisenhower found the standard Class A service coat too restrictive for active duty. In late 1944, the U.S. Army introduced the M-1944 Wool Field Jacket, nicknamed the "Ike". This waist-length jacket was adopted across the European Theatre of Operations, serving as both a combat layer and a dress uniform.

This reproduction is made from tight, heavy-weave wool gabardine in the correct wartime Olive Drab 51 (OD51) shade, which is a rich, dark brownish-green. It features shoulder epaulettes for rank insignia, a fully lined interior, and waist tightening straps. The side tabs have reliable slide buckles for an adjustable fit.

For re-enactors, this short-waisted cut is extremely practical. It sits right on your trouser waistband, giving you plenty of room to move. It pairs perfectly with the classic pinks or matching OD51 trousers, making it a brilliant choice for historical displays, public events, or living history portrayals.
