Description
First introduced in 1942 as part of the second pattern uniform, these US Airborne M1942 Trousers were designed with paratroopers in mind. As paratroopers prepared for daring jumps behind enemy lines, it was found that their training uniforms were not up to task. As such these trousers were introduced as part of a wider uniform reform. While originally launching with some durability concerns, the M1942 trousers became a staple for the brave men who jumped into action during famous operations such as D-Day and Market Garden. Eventually these were phased out in 1943 as stronger trousers were introduced.
Thankfully, our reproductions are nowhere near as fragile as the originals. While the originals would often tear at the crotch or pockets, ours have been crafted to keep your essentials safe and secure. The M1942 trousers maintain a classic loose fit, allowing for maximum comfort and freedom of movement. The 5-button fly adds to the authenticity and the six large pockets maintain all the functionality of the originals, while the medicine pocket allows storage of bandages, morphine vials or to keep small items free from prying eyes.
