Description
Introduced in 1936 as part of the M36 field uniform, the breast eagle became an iconic symbol of the German Wehrmacht. The M36 uniforms, including the embroidered eagle, were a hallmark of the early years of the war, worn by soldiers as they embarked on campaigns across Europe. This BeVo-style eagle is meticulously recreated with the same light grey embroidery on a green backing as seen on original tunics.
Produced by the BeVo-Wuppertal firm, the BeVo style was a distinctive form of silk embroidery that allowed for high durability and a sharp, professional finish. This eagle would have been affixed to the tunic by German soldiers as part of their standard uniform configuration.
