Description
As issued from 1936 to 1940, these tunics with distinctive pleated pockets and dark green collars feature woollen construction, cotton liner and historically accurate sizing stamps. Field Grey buttons, tunic hook mounting and removable shoulder boards as you would expect on an M36 tunic, all in a high-quality wool with an excellent reproduction of feldgrau.
There is much discussion among reenactors as to the best material to use in woollen uniforms, from those who prefer a pure wool construction to various blends with polyester and more. For our Premium Uniform range, we have settled on a 70% wool, 30% polyester blend. Made to spec from the start, we use quality wool that hasn't been recycled from another process, before dying to an accurate shade with a polyester blend which matches the weight and feel of the material. With these managed steps and materials we are left with a repeatable quality and finish without the large colour variations between batches sometimes seen in other uniforms. We are confident these uniforms use some of the best commercially produced field grey wool material available.
