The German army introduced the Winteranzug 42 in late 1942 to combat the freezing Russian winter. It was a massive upgrade over the standard wool greatcoat, keeping Wehrmacht and Luftwaffe troops warm in active combat. This grey version was the very first model issued before they switched to camouflage patterns.

We've made this reproduction with a heavy double-layer cotton shell and a thick, insulating wool blanket layer sewn right inside. It has the correct double-breasted offset front with six classic grey pebbled buttons. You also get adjustable drawstrings at the hood and hem, plus a drawcord waist to help trap the heat.

Because it's fully reversible to white, you can switch from grey to winter camouflage in seconds. The jacket is cut nice and loose so it fits easily over your service tunic. There are two deep flapped pockets on both the grey and white sides, so you won't lose your field gear when you're out in the snow.

Dry clean only to prevent bleeding between the camouflage and white sides and to protect the internal insulation.
