Description
Initially established in 1946 as Air Space Command, the Aerospace Defence Command (ADC) formed a critical component of the United State’s air defence strategy, particularly during the Cold War. The ADC played a crucial role in defending North American airspace during the period, overseeing radar networks, missile defence systems and interceptor aircraft to counter airborne threats. The command was eventually disbanded in 1980.
