Description
Initially established in 1946 as Air Space Command, the Aerospace Defence Command (ADC) formed a critical component of the United State’s air defence strategy, particularly during the Cold War. The ADC played a crucial role in defending North American airspace during the period, overseeing radar networks, missile defence systems and interceptor aircraft to counter airborne threats. The command was eventually disbanded in 1980.
This original patch showcases the iconic emblem of the Aerospace Defence Command, featuring a bald eagle clutching a red lighting bolt over a globe. Measuring just 6cm x 8cm, and being made from intricate embroidered cloth, this patch is both compact in size and highly detailed; making for a perfect item to add to a reenactment setup, or as a unique item to add to your historical collection.
