The Military Merit Order of Württemberg (Militärverdienstorden) was a distinguished military decoration of the Kingdom of Württemberg, established in 1759. Bestowed primarily upon officers for acts of exceptional bravery or exemplary service in battle, it represented one of the highest recognitions of martial merit within the Württemberg armed forces. This particular version, the Knight’s Cross (Ritterkreuz), was most often awarded to junior officers.
