LONG SERVICE AND GOOD CONDUCT Medal (Army)

This is an exquisite replica of the Long Service and Good Conduct Medal (LS and GCM) in the Regular Army, and is ideal for the collector or as a replacement.

The LS and GSM was first instituted for members of the Army in 1830. This is the edition to have been awarded since the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953. It is awarded to members of the Regular Army, who have served 15 years of service since attestation, or since they were 17 and a half years of age if this was later. They must also pass a series of stringent checks, as certain misconducts exclude them from the award. It also requires a recommendation by their commanding officer.

The design features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II on the front, with the words "For Long Service and Good Conduct" on the reverse. It is connected to the white flanked maroon ribbon by a fixed suspension, including the words "Regular Army".

These are stunning new productions and the only difference form the originals is that these have a discreet 'copy' written on the reverse side of the medal, this can clearly be seen in the pictures.
