Blood Order Medal
A fine reproduction of the WW2 German Blood Order Medal, one of the most respected awards of the Nazi party.
The medal was introduced in 1934, and was awarded to those who took part in the 'Beer Hall Putsch' in 1923. The Putsch was an unsuccessful attempt to seize power by Hitler in Munich, with the ambition to then march on Berlin to oust the government. He took inspiration from Mussolini's march on Rome a year beforehand, which had successfully installed their Fascist government. It was a result of this failed coup which led to the imprisonment of Adolf Hitler, where he famously wrote Mein Kampf.
The medal bares an Eagle on the front, clutching a wreath in its talons encircling the date of the Beer Hall Putsch; 9. Nov. Its also features the text 'Munchen 1923-1933.' The reverse features the Feldherrnlhalle (Field Marshall's Hall) in Munich, the site of the failed coup, under the swastika and text 'Und ihr habt doch Gesiegt', translating to "And you were victorious after all." It also comes with a length of the correct red, white and black ribbon.
A quality reproduction of a medal instituted to recognise the efforts of the earliest members of the Nazi Party.
