Originally part of a deception campaign against Fascist Italy, the 1st SAS later became a real operational unit carrying out daring raids and covert missions. These shoulder titles, carefully embroidered in cotton thread, maintain the design worn by members of this unit during WW2, and would make the perfect basis of a WW2 SAS impression.

Description
The 1st SAS was not a conventional brigade; it was part of a clever deception operation during the Second World War, designed to confuse and mislead Axis forces. In 1941, L Detachment was formed as part of the Special Air Service Brigade, but the name ‘1st SAS’ was deliberately crafted to make the enemy believe it was a much larger force. This unit, initially made up of men from 7 and 8 Commando carried out small-scale raids behind enemy lines in North Africa.
Our WW2 1st SAS Shoulder Titles serve as a fantastic tribute to this storied history. Crafted from soft light blue and maroon cotton, and coming in a pair, these shoulder titles are designed to be worn on a uniform, but are perfect even as a display piece. With their small size, measuring only 6.5 cm x 2.8 cm, they are not too large but pack a big punch. Perfect as the basis upon which to build a period-accurate historical impression.
