Description
The US M41 was originally named "Jacket, Field, OD" or "the OD Field Jacket", with the later M43 becoming the first US Uniform to take its name from the year of its introduction. It was also commonly known as the Parson's Jacket, after Major General J.K. Parsons who was key in the design of the uniform. They were designed to be comfortable and loose fitting to allow greater freedom of movement. They were worn throughout the war, with many still in use even after the introduction of the M43 Uniform later on.
