WW2 German War merit Cross 2nd Class without Swords
The War Merit Cross with Swords was instituted on the 11th October, 1939, and was awarded for civilian or military merit which did not involve combat service on the front line. This is the 2nd Class version without swords, which were awarded for bravery.
This early-war, quality example is die struck in solid brass with an antique bronze finish. They are stamped with the makers code number on the suspension ring. The medal also comes with 6 inches of the according War Merit ribbon.
