Introduced in 1942, these WW2 Gold Tank Destruction Badges would have been awarded to soldiers who single-handedly destroyed 5 tanks using only hand held explosives. This award would replace the 5 silver tank badges once they had been earned.
The badges feature a metal tank on a gold coloured ribbon backing with two black stripes.
