During the brutal winter of 1941 on the Eastern Front, German forces suffered from a severe lack of cold-weather gear. In late 1942, the military introduced the padded, fully reversible Winter-Wendejacke. This reproduction features the Waffen-SS Rauchtarnmuster, or blurred edge camouflage, which was designed in 1941.

This heavy-duty winter parka is made with a dense cotton canvas shell. A thick layer of thermal insulating padding is stitched between the camouflage and white sides. It features accurate details like pebbled metal buttons on the printed side, heavy-duty paper-resin buttons on the reverse white side, and reinforced elbows.

Designed specifically for winter reenactors, this Wendejacke is sized to fit comfortably over standard combat tunics. The integrated hood is cut wide to accommodate a steel helmet underneath. Adjust the waist and hem drawstrings to lock in heat, while the reversible white side provides instant cover in snow terrain.
