This is a stickpin version of the WW2 German 1939 Wound Badge in silver. Awarded to combatants who received three or four wounds, lost limbs, partial loss of sight or hearing, disfigurement or brain damage suffered in the line of duty.
This pin can be worn in the lapel of a tunic or jacket.
