The certificate itself was an official document, bearing the eagle-and-swastika insignia of the German Wehrmacht, along with formal language specifying the soldier’s name, rank, unit, and the criteria met to earn the award. This certificate accompanied the physical Panzer Assault Badge, which was given to tank crews, armored infantry, and other personnel who took part in a required number of combat engagements in armored vehicles.
