WW2 German Legion Condor Tank Badge - Silver
During the Spanish Civil War, the Condor Legion was established in July 1936 to support the Nationalists. It consisted of members of the German Wehrmacht and also equipped with Panzer I light tanks. The Legion continued to serve in Spain until the end of the war in April 1939.
Colonel Von Thoma created the Tank Badge in 1936 and was recognised as an official award in 1939. It was awarded to tank crews who had served for at least three months in the Spanish theatre of war and discontinued in 1939.
