WW2 German German Army Gebirgsjager Edleweiss Metal Cap Badge
These metal edelweiss badges were worn by German Mountain Troops on the unique ‘Bergmutze’ field cap.
The insignia takes the form of a die-struck nickel Edelweiss flower with a gilt metal stamen in the centre. This particular style of badge does not have prongs on the rear but is instead sewn on using guide holes along the outside of the flower. Made in Germany by one of the foremost manufacturers of insignia during the Third Reich.
