WW2 German Gebirgsjager Darkened Edelweiss Field Cap Badge With Prongs
These metal edelweiss badges were worn by German Mountain Troops on the unique ‘Bergmutze’ field cap. The insignia takes the form of a die struck nickel Edelweiss flower with a gilt metal stamen in the centre.
This type is fitted with 2 sturdy prongs to facilitate mounting on the cap. Made in Germany by one of the foremost manufacturers of insignia during the Third Reich.
