WW2 German 1st Class Iron Cross Medal Box

A smart presentation box for Iron Cross 1st class awards, complete with silver Iron Cross logo on the lid.

Reintroduced by Hitler on the 1st September 1939. The Iron Cross was awarded for bravery in battle as well as other military contributions in a battlefield environment. It is estimated that some 300,000 1st Clas Iron Crosses also known as the EKI were awarded during WW2. These would have been manufactured by Leistungsgemeinschaft der deutschen Ordenhersteller (LDO), the organisation responsible for the order distribution, the raw material allocation as well as the quality of medals and the companies that manufactured them in Nazi Germany.

Complete with silver logo on the lid, smart black textured exterior, tidy closure button, white satin and black velvet interior.

The box measures approximately 7.5 x 7.2 x 2.7 cm.
