WW2 German 1939 1st Class Bar Medal Box
A smart presentation box for Clasp to the Iron Cross (Spange zum Eisernen Kreuz) awards, complete with silver image of the award on the lid.
The 1939 Bar to the Iron Cross was awarded to those who had previously been awarded the 1914 Iron Cross, 1st Class award. The bar itself features the eagle holding a Swastika, with the date '1939'. These would have been manufactured by Leistungsgemeinschaft der deutschen Ordenhersteller (LDO), the organisation responsible for the order distribution, the raw material allocation as well as the quality of medals and the companies that manufactured them in Nazi Germany.
Complete with silver image on the lid, smart textured black exterior, tidy closure button, white satin and black velvet interior.
The box measures approximately 9.4 x 6.2 x 2.8 cm.
