WW2 DRL Sports Badge in Bronze
In stock
Fantastic reproduction of the Bronze D.R.L. Sports badge.
This is the final version of the award, which was originally introduced by the German National Physical Training Union (D.R.L.) in 1937. It acted as recognition of a proficiency in sports, and was split into three grades. Although the award was primarily a civilian decoration, it was often awarded to servicemen who wore it on their military uniform.
The badge features the initials ‘D.R.L.’ within a wreath, which is completed by a large swastika in relief at its base. The back has the full maker's name alongside the correct German style hinge.
This Bronze class example is die-struck from brass, and has an antiqued bronze finish.
It measures 39mm x 48mm.
