During World War II, British Army officers wore the Service Dress uniform for daily duties, staff appointments, and formal wear. Unlike standard pattern battle dress issued to enlisted men, officers purchased their own tailoring in dark khaki wool to maintain a distinct, professional look across all theatres of war.

The jacket is cut with open notch lapels, a four-button front using brass General Service buttons, waist seam, shoulder epaulettes, and a rear vent. The matching trousers feature a high-waisted cut with waistband brace buttons, front pleats, deep side pockets, and a clean button fly.

This complete two-piece outfit gives reenactors and collectors an easy way to build a WWII British officer impression. The open collar allows you to wear it over a standard service shirt and tie, while the cut easily accommodates a Sam Browne leather belt.
