WW2 British Dickinson Commando Knife
High quality reproduction steel cruciform knife.
Commonly referred to as the "D-Day Invasion Knife", this knife was in fact a private purchase item used by some members of the British Commandos during WW2. Famously used by British Commando Major G.L. Dickinson, the knife was made from a converted SMLE No. 4 Mk 1 Spike Bayonet with an added turned steel handle. Despite its lack of a prominent blade it still performs tasks like opening packing quite happily.
This distinctive looking knife measures 12 inches overall with an 8 inch blade and has a nice weight to it, making the knife comfortable to hold. Although this item was not strictly government issue, it still is a great item for collectors and enthusiasts.
