The ribbon benefits from a central white stripe with a fine black edge bordered on either side by red, dark blue and light blue stripes. Arctic Star Medals were primarily awarded to Royal Navy and RAF personnel, who ensured the Arctic convoys reached Russia, providing a vital flow of military equipment to our Russian Allies during the Second World War.
