US M17 helmets also known as Doughboy helmets were extremely similar to the British Brodie (Tommy) helmet.Â
These fantastic American M17 helmets are made from a lightweight yet tough steel. The helmet shells have been aged to give them a more authentic look. These helmets come with a great goatskin, rexine and cotton liner. The liner has a mesh top which can be adjusted to provide a more comfortable fit. There is a thick brown buffalo leather chin strap which has a brass coloured metal buckle. The chin strap is held in place at the top of the helmet with a rivet which also holds an instruction label in place. The metal chinstrap loops on either side of the helmet are held in place with solid rivets.Â
These helmets are made in one size but by using the adjustment cord inside the helmet will fit a 56 - 59 cm.Â
Great quality US M17 helmets with an aged finish which would make a great addition to a WW1 US impression.Â
