Description
The WW1 German M15 Tunic is an excellent reproduction of the tunic first issued in September 1915, known as the M1915 or "Bluse." This new pattern was introduced to provide greater comfort and mobility for German soldiers, with its looser cut allowing for heavier undergarments and more freedom of movement. While adopted by most German units, the Bavarian Army did not incorporate the M15 tunic until March 1916.
This tunic is made from high-quality heavy wool fabric and stands out with its slightly more green color compared to other reproductions, closely matching the original designs from the era. It features the signature bottle green collar, along with a 6-button front closure and a double hook and eyelet fastening system around the neck, which allows the collar to be turned up and secured with an additional flap to protect the wearer from harsh winter winds.
The tunic is also equipped with 4 belt hooks and 2 hip pockets on the front, each closed with a flap and button embossed with the Prussian crown, adding an authentic historical touch. These same buttons appear on the shoulders, where easily replaceable shoulder boards can be added, allowing for customization based on the wearer’s rank or unit. Inside, the tunic features a small button-closure pocket on the right-hand side and an open pocket on the lower left, designed for carrying a first aid kit or wound dressing.
