Description
Breadbags have been worn by German Soldiers since the early 19th century. They were used to carry personal belongings, rations and their field cap when it wasn’t in use. Our WW1 German Breadbags are just like the originals, coming in tan. It benefits from brown leather fittings, silver metal dish buttons and grey d-rings for attachments. Inside the bag, there is one large pocket with leather close straps to keep its contents secure. It is made from a strong canvas material and has leather reinforcements where necessary – providing a strong and durable bread bag.
Made to be worn on the right hip, these were mainly issued in various shades of brown, tan and grey. However, during the Second World War, they were made in field grey and Luftwaffe blue canvas. These could be carried on the shoulder with an added strap.
