WW1 French M1877 Canteen and Cover with Strap

Ça alors! These incredible, reproduction WW1 French canteens not only look fantastic, they also feel solid, durable and well put together. Boasting a 2-litre capacity, these metal canteens with cork stopper include a blue/green woolen cover and brown leather adjustable strap. The cover can be loosened by pulling on the cord under the drinking spout. The smaller hole on the other side of the canteen has a small stopper - but this is not used for drinking out of! This was to support airflow into the water bottle to prevent a 'bubbling' effect when pouring water from the larger spout.

Of course, these are perfect to complete any WW1 Poilu kit. They would also look great with other types of reenactment, for example medieval, as the woolen cover hides the metal bottle underneath.
