WW1 US M17 Helmet

In April 1917, when the United States entered the First World War, they didn't have an official helmet for their troops. But by June of that year, the US had adopted the standard British MK I helmet due to availability and ease of production. As a result of this, production for the M17 Doughboy helmet began in November of that year, with over 700,000 helmets produced by February 1918.

These high-quality reproduction WW1 US M17 Helmets are made from lightweight yet tough steel, the shells have a clean finish, and they come complete with a goatskin and cotton lining.

Features:

  • Fantastic quality repro
  • Made from tough but lightweight steel for comfort
  • Shells have a clean, un-issued finish
  • Goatskin and cotton lining
  • Liner has mesh top which can be adjusted for comfort
  • Thick brown leather chinstrap with brass coloured metal buckle

Great quality WW1 US M17 Helmets - a great addition to a WW1 US impression.
