The 4th Infantry Division, known as the Ivy Division, wore this subdued design during the Vietnam War. Deployed in September 1966 to the rugged Central Highlands, the division needed low-visibility insignia for dense jungle combat. In 1968, the US Army authorised merrowed borders to replace easily frayed cut edges.
This reproduction is made with a tight weave olive drab backing fabric. The classic insignia is sewn with flat black thread. It measures exactly 5cm by 5cm, matching the historical square dimensions. The thick overstitched border is fully finished, providing a clean edge that replicates late-war issue insignia.
