US Navy Gold SSBN Nuclear Deterrent Patrol Badge
The SSBN Nuclear Deterrent Patrol Badge was awarded to sailors who have completed 20 strategic deterrent patrols in nuclear ballistic or cruise missile submarines.
These badges show the Lafayette class submarine with a Polaris missile surmounted with electron rings. If rank stars were to be added in the future, this can be done with the spaces left in the scroll. There are two clutch pins on the reverse for attachment, and the badges measure 6cm x 2cm.
