US 3 Star Lieutenant General Rank Badges
Badges worn by officers in the American Army, and Army Air Force to show the rank of 3 Star Lieutenant General in WW2.
Lieutenant Generals would typically command a Corps sized formation, that is the grouping of 2 or more divisions of roughly 10,000 men each. In US Army tradition 3 and 4 star ranks are temporary positions, once the officer retires they are reverted back to a two star Major-General.
Famous American Lieutenant Generals include George S Patton and Jimmy Doolittle.
Each badge is approximately 7cm x 2cm and is fastened with two butterfly clips to the rear.
