Stalingrad Military School Graduation Badge
By order of the Ministry of Defense of the USSR No. 151 of August 18, 1958, the badge "Suvorov Military School" was introduced. This particular badge is for graduation from the Stalingrad school.
In the mid-fifties, unofficial signs "Suvorov Military School" began to appear. The signs, as a rule, were a slightly convex vertical rhombus, most often blue or red, reminiscent in shape of signs of graduation from universities. In the center of the badge there was an oval with a stylized image of A.V. Suvorov or the coat of arms of the USSR. Asterisks, laurel branches and the inscription "SVU" were obligatory attributes of these signs. Such amateur signs are quite rare and are the pride of serious collectors.
The Ministry of Defense paid attention to amateur signs and dealt with this problem professionally, in a military way. By order of the Technical Committee, the sketches of the Suvorov sign were made by the artist Yu.S. Rubin. The author took the 1st degree Order of Suvorov as a basis. I put it on a laurel wreath and put the name of the school below. After the revision, the names of the schools were removed in order to save money and later began to be found only in unofficial signs. On the sign "Suvorov Military School " there are inscriptions: "SVU" and "USSR". With the collapse of the country, the last inscription from the signs disappeared.
