SS-Feldgendarmerie Officers Cuff Title
SS-Feldgendarmerie Cuff Title as worn by Military Police Units.
These cuff titles are reproductions of the design introduced on 1 August 1942 for the SS-Feldgendarmerie. The cuff title was used until 15 November 1944 after which members of the SS-Feldgendarmerie reverted to wearing the cuff-title of their division.
The SS military police division was smaller than its Wehrmacht counterpart but both were afforded sinister nicknames by the common soldiers. As a result of the gorget they wore the Heer Feldengamerie were known as the 'Kettenhunde' (Chained Dogs) while the SS Feldgendarmerie were referred to as the 'Kopfjaeger' (Head Hunters). This was not only a reference to the Totenkopf skull emblem on their caps but also their reputation as strict and efficient law enforcers.
