This is the tunic worn by the Allgemeine SS until they started transitioning to the new grey-green uniform, As the country moved onto a war footing and more men were drafted into the Waffen SS, many of the black uniforms were to be handed back in and were re-badged for foreign volunteer armies. The uniform was worn between 1932 and 1934 although they continued to be worn by some until the transition from 1938-1939
As with the Officers style Gabardine uniform, the new uniform kept the same cut with the 4 buttons front and open collar, although some officers would still wear their black M32 uniform for Official functions (seeing as Officers had to pay for uniform out of their pay, it would not have to be handed back to stores.)
These tunics have the correct cut and are made from fine-quality black wool with silver piping around the collar and a satin viscose blend lining.
