Description
The GP-5 Gas Mask was developed to provide Soviet civilians with protection against potential NBC threats during the Cold War. Its simple yet effective design includes a snug-fitting grey rubber facepiece with sealed glass eyepieces and a 40mm GOST threaded inlet for attaching a filter (filter not included). The mask is accompanied by its original canvas carrying bag, and is in unissued condition.
These masks are authentic Soviet-era surplus, remaining unused and in storage for decades. Due to this, we would not recommend using them for anything other than reenactment or collection as they may no longer possess the same protective properties. Because of their time in storage, some masks may have a white powdery residue on their service; this is typical for rubber items and can be easily cleaned off.
