Pineapple Grenade - MK I
Reproduction Mk. I fragmentation grenades, more commonly known as pineapple grenades.
These fragmentation grenades were used briefly by US forces during WWI. When America joined the First World War, they did not have a fragmentation device of their own so had to use the British Mills bomb or French FI grenade. This led to the development of the Mk I in 1917, and whilst they were supposed to be fool-proof, they proved difficult to use on the battlefield which led to them being retired from service before the end of the war.
Each MkI Pineapple grenade features
- Removable head with replica fuse
- Removable Pin (replaceable with care as originals are designed to be replaced!)
- Removable lever
- Correct length silver spoon lever.
- Correct 40x fragments
- Heavy 500g weight
- Green painted body.
- Hole in the base to show it is empty and a replica
