Ottoman Iron Crescent
The Iron Crescent was an award instituted by the Ottoman Sultan Mehmed Reshad V in 1915. Awarded for galantry in battle, the decoration was given to Ottoman and other Central Powers troops in Ottoman areas of engagement. It was official titled the Ottoman War Medal, but was also known as the Gallipoli Star. Germany referred to it as the Eiserner Halbmond, which translates to Iron Crescent.
This is a high quality reproduction of the award, complete with vertical pin back.
Can you actually wear this? Because the pin attachment on the back looks a bit different.Submited by: Talha 12 Jul 2022
