Original South African 83 Pattern Late Style Light Battle Jacket - Nutria Brown

A lightweight version of the SADF 83 Pattern battle jacket used by SWATF (South West Africa Territorial Force), also seeing use with the SADF 32 Battalion. This is the later pattern, doing away with the removable back panel and sewing the pouches directly to the vest.
On the front, each side holds magazine and grenade pouches. Designed for use with the South African R1 and R4 rifles, these pouches accept a huge variety of magazines including AK, Galil, G3, FAL and M4 styles. Each side mounts a large open-top pouch intended for water bottles and mess tins.
The rear panel includes a larger vertical general-purpose zipped pouch with a larger open-top radio pouch above, flanked by two pouches for rifle grenades or similar.
The Imperfect vests sport a variety of sun bleached colours as shown in the images but are still as serviceable as the Standard variants.

Surplus South African 83 Pattern Light Battle Jacket in excellent condition and ready for use. These are on the smaller side and not as adjustable as the full battle jacket, usually coming in as a small or medium.
