Original M87 South African Paratrooper Helmet - Grade 2
Made in South Africa and issued to South African Paratroopers, the M87 peaked kevlar helmet was built with the design of the successful Israeli Orlite helmet in mind. The outer of the helmets are textured and earthy brown (Nutria) in colour with a black rubber rim around the bottom. Internally, the helmets have a leather sweatband with adjustable webbing, which has a maximum head size of 55-57cm. Each helmet has a 3 point chinstrap, complete with metal buckles. The metal buckles and screws are rusted so great care should be used when adjusting the size.
Product features:
- Grade 2: Heavier signs of use. May have visible defects such as small scratches, stains, or minor damage to internal webbing, but remain functional.
- Textured nutria brown exterior
- 3 point chin strap
- Leather sweatband
- Adjustable up to 55-58.5cm.
These are fantastic helmets but as expected, due to their age there is some wear on the exterior, and corrosion to the metal buckles. They would still make an excellent addition to your collection, and still very much look the part for military reenactment purposes.
