Originally developed for the Koninklijke Landmacht (Royal Dutch Army) during the late 1990s, these pouches were a core component of their modular load-bearing system. Known officially as the opbouwtas algemeen, they replaced older ALICE-style webbing to offer soldiers customisable configurations in the field.

Each pouch is made from heavy-duty polyamide fabric with a water-resistant 280 g/m² polyurethane coating inside. The design features a nylon snow collar with a drawstring toggle closure, a quick-release ITW Nexus buckle, and three rear MOLLE straps with metal press-studs for secure mounting.

Available in three sizes, the Small measures 11x11x22cm, the Medium is 18x16x10cm (NSN 8465-17-114-3448), and the Large is 22x16x10cm. All options feature a metal drainage grommet at the base to let water escape and keep contents dry.
