Officers M34 Panzer Black Overseas Side Cap
The M34 Overseas Side Cap was authorised for use by Panzer crews from March 1940. The design is based on the M34 cap that was originally issued to infantry prior to the outbreak of war. The Panzer M34 replaced the unpopular beret that Panzer crews found to be less than practical in the field.
The black construction denotes the wearer is assigned to a Panzer unit, while the silver piping indicates that this is an officer’s cap. There is a ventilation grommet on either side of the cap. The design is similar to those used by British, American and Soviet soldiers of the period. The front of the cap would feature a cockade of black, white and red. Above this would be a Panzer cap eagle. Please see our related products below for these items.
