On July 15th this higher variant of the Knights Cross was instituted. Awarded to those who had already received the Oakleaves with Swords in addition to the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross, and continued to show bravery and exemplary conduct. It was one of the rarest decorations of the Third Reich, being awarded only 27 times, with three recipients never actually receiving the award.

These excellent reproduction badges feature a set of large silver oak leaves, sitting above crossed swords, studded with imitation diamonds. The reverse has a large ribbon loop fastening. The badge measures approx. 4 x 3cm.
