Our MP40 Leather Slings are made from a cross-hatch textured leather and measure 120cm long – just like the originals. At one end of the strap, there is a single loop and stud to attach to the rear grip of the gun, the other end has a black steel clamp that attaches to the front of the weapon. Much like Wartime soldiers, you wear the MP40 over the right shoulder or hung in front of you so this is a must-have for an accurate portrayal.

Made from beautiful cross-hatch textured leather, these MP40 leather slings measured 120cm in length with a width of 2.2cm (just like the originals.) This sling is made from light brown leather with black steel fixings on either end to attach to the gun. On one end, the sling benefits from a single loop and stud that attaches to the rear grip – the other end has a black steel clamp that fastens to the front.
During the Second World War, German Troops used the MP40 submachine gun with strap fastens to keep the hands free when not in use. According to the official manual (Merkblatt für die Ausbildung mit der Maschinenpistole 38 und 40), the official way to wear them was with the MP hung over the right shoulder or hung in front of the body.

The MP40 Submachine Gun was developed in Nazi Germany and was used extensively by the Axis powers during the Second World War. Designed by Heinrich Vollmer, it was heavily used by infantrymen and paratroopers on the eastern and western front. Between 1940-45, an estimated 1.1 million were produced by Erma Werke alone (German Weapons Manufacturer.) The gun weighed almost 4kg and could fire 500-550 rounds a minute. It was most effective from around 100-200 metres.
