MP40 Black Smooth Leather Ammo Pouches
Quality reproduction MP-40 smooth Black Leather Ammunition Pouches.
More commonly referred to as the "early" type pouches, being all leather, this wasn't actually the case with evidence found that manufacture of the pouches was between 1941 and 1943 by several different manufacturers.
The MP40 as we all know was the descendant of the MP38, made lighter by using stamped steel rather than machined parts and fired a 9 x 19mm parabelum round. The magazines in turn were designed to hold 32 rounds and each pouch designed to hold 3 magazines or "cells". The standard rule was that the MP40 was for the most part only issued to the NCOS's of a group or squad leader.
MP40 pouches came in as many variations as can be thought of, 3 cell, 6 cell (for vehicles) and came in many combinations of leather and canvas construction.
In modern use they can be seen being used as shoulder mounted ammo pouches for Sandtroopers (TD) in the Star Wars Film Franchise
