The M1 helmet was a combat helmet that used widely by the US Armed Forces from the early 1940s until the late ‘80s. Designed to replace earlier helmets that had been used during the First World War, the M1 saw extensive use in a number of differing conflicts, including WW2, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.
