Reproduction Latvian Volunteer Shield Badge.
Worn by members of the Latvian Legion. The Legion consisted of two Waffen-SS divisions comprised largely of ethnic Latvians. One of these divisions, the 19th, held out in the Courland Pocket until May 1945 and was one of the last German forces to surrender.
