Reproduction Italian Waffen-SS volunteer shield.
As worn by Italian volunteers who fought for the Waffen-SS after the Italian surrender in 1943. The fasces is an ancient symbol of law and government that was the origin of the word fascism. Used by Benito Mussolini as the symbol of his National Fascist Party.
This badge features yellow embroidered fasces in red bindings on a black wool base with a yellow border.
The badge measures approximately 7 x 6 cm.
